Dr. Fara Policarpio
Dr. Fara Guerrero - Policarpio is a GP who graduated from the UP CVM in 2004. She was immediately employed by a private clinic for 2 years before pursuing a 4-year residency at the UP CVM Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She joined the Alagang Beterinaryo Corporation in 2011 as the Clinic Director, where she continues to uphold her values of compassion, empathy and medical excellence. She has always been passionate in teaching and inspiring younger veterinarians to appreciate the field. Her efforts at continuing education include several training programs at the University of Sydney CVE in her current fields of interest: small animal soft tissue surgery and dermatology.
Dr. Edison Luciano
After studying veterinary medicine at the University of the Philippines in 2015, Dr. Luciano is still learning and improving his ability to treat animals. He attended scientific conventions both locally and internationally under Philippine Animal Hospital Association (PAHA) and World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) since he believes that continuing education is essential in the ever-evolving science of veterinary medicine. His special interests are soft-tissue surgery and oncology. The absolutely best part of the profession is that it allows him to make a difference. Whether it is preventative health care to keep animals healthy, helping a new life enter the world, or assisting an old friend to pass with peace and dignity, he gets to make a difference every single day.
Dr. Ralph Roa
Dr. Roa graduated from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños in 2015. He spent his time with Small Animal Medicine and is mostly interested with the pathophysiology of diseases. In his spare time, he does his laundry and Practo, and trying to enjoy life.
Dr. Carmela Casas
Dr. Ma. Carmela Casas is a companion animal veterinarian who is interested in shelter medicine, emergency and critical care, and diagnostic imaging. Her homegrown history with BSF began in 2016 when she was a vet intern, shortly before completing her DVM degree in UPLB in 2017 and joining the team full-time.
Dr. Luis Pabunan
After finishing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at De La Salle Araneta University last 2019, Dr. Luis Andrew A. Pabunan has started his journey towards being a small animal practitioner. Equipped with his excellent academic record during his undergrad, Dr. Luis took interest in the fields of disease diagnostics and internal medicine. Since he started being a veterinarian at a young age, he still seeks to hone his skills and explore different specialties in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Aya Carreon
A fresh graduate from Central Luzon State University who is passionate, compassionate, driven, and an animal enthusiast. To do better and learn more each day as a veterinarian are the things that she constantly challenge herself in this practice. She enjoys being able to understand her patients without the need for them to talk.

Dr. Leo Guzman
Dr. Leo Guzman graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1986, and has been a licensed practicing veterinarian since then. He has engaged in numerous pursuits and enterprises, the varying nature of which reflecting his belief that a life in pursuit of knowledge and learning is a life well spent. In addition to animal health and animal welfare, he is concerned with the study of animal behaviour, and the use of intelligent and humane methods to ensure that animals live in harmony with their human companions and vice-versa.
Dr. Ed Torres
Dr. Ed Torres obtained his PhD in Veterinary Obstetrics and Gynecology in Japan and his MS in Animal Reproduction in the USA. He is a Charter Fellow and Founding President of the Philippine College of Equine Practitioners and serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Philippine Veterinary Drug Directory. Dr. Torres is a Past President of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association. He is a Retired Professor and Former Dean of the UPLB College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Chico Buenviaje
Dr. Chico Buenviaje has trained for small animal medicine at Mount Pleasant Hospital in Singapore. He is also a veterinary consultant at the Olaylee Botanical and Zoological Avian Research Center. Art is one of his passions, so he manages an arts and framing business from home.
Dr. AA Yaptinchay
Dr. Yaptinchay has been involved in marine biodiversity conservation in the Philippines for almost 30 years. He is the director and founder of the conservation NGO, Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines. He has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of the Philippines and a Masters of Science Degree in Aquatic Tropical Ecology from Bremen University, Germany. He has worked with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Biodiversity Management Bureau as a biologist and WWF-Philippines as their Species Conservation Program Director. He sits on the board of other NGOs including Balyena.org, Reef Check Philippines, CAPE Foundation, Responsible Tourism Philippines, Clean Our Oceans Project, and Society for Sustainable Tourism. He is a member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature – Species Specialist Group on Sirenians, sits on the editorial board of The Philippine Journal of Fisheries, and is part of the Philippine Aquatic Red List Committee of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Can my pet see the same veterinarian each time we visit?
We make every effort to satisfy our clients' needs, and we understand that you may prefer to have your pet cared for by a particular veterinarian. Please understand that while we do our best to schedule your appointment with your preferred veterinarian, there may be circumstances that prevent a particular member of our veterinary team from being available during your pet's visit. All of our team members are skilled professionals who look forward to your pet’s visit.
My pet is vomiting, can I call for an emergency?
A slight digestive irritation could cause vomiting. In circumstances when your pet is vomiting, your veterinarian may recommend that you withhold food for 8 to 12 hours. After this period, you may be advised to feed your dog a bland, easily digestible food. A specific prescription diet may be prescribed, or your veterinarian may recommend feeding a mixture of boiled chicken and boiled rice in small portions given frequently. If the dog is doing well on this diet, the portion size can be gradually increased, and the regular diet can be gradually reintroduced over a few days. However, if the vomiting persists for 24 hours, seek veterinary help or call our Urgent Care Hotline at 8459-7100.

How do I obtain a Veterinary Health Certificate (VHC) for my animal?
You must have your animal examined by a veterinarian. If the animal meets the requirements of the destination country, your veterinarian can issue the health certificate. Please contact your veterinarian to receive an accurate and fully completed export health certificate.
How long does the process take before I can export my animal?
Get started right away! The process could take anything from a few weeks to months, depending on the importing country's restrictions. Some countries require an animal to spend weeks or months in isolation or quarantine before being allowed to enter. As early as possible, begin researching the requirements of your destination country. Please notify your veterinarian as soon as possible about your travel plans. Their participation is crucial to the process.
